The Big Takeover has long done an excellent job of calling attention to unsung and underappreciated music and my blog aims to continue that tradition, focusing on music that possesses passion, conviction, vision and above all—heart.
I will spend more time extolling great music, be it forty years old or forty weeks old, than denigrating it (you lucky dog, MICHAEL BOLTON). However, from time to time, when the situation warrants, a “Gregorian Rant” will produce a tongue lashing of sorts (still with me Michael?).
As a Brooklyn resident, I will occasionally review bands playing in New York City. CD reviews will certainly be a part of the mix as will be Top 10 lists of CDs, movies and books (in essence “Art with Heart”).
I will also offer media critiques and political/social observations but on a limited basis in order to preserve the blog’s music-centric identity. Investing, technology, unexplained phenomena (including why Michael Bolton is famous), baseball and anything else that helps make this blog an enjoyable and informative read may appear too.
Hope you check back soon!

Hey, go easy on Mr Bolton – haven’t you heard he has a new Rick Rubin-produced acoustic album coming out to bolster his already considerable credibility ?
